The Social Science Undergraduate Student Research Apprenticeship
This program supports up to three faculty members each semester to hire an undergraduate student as a research apprentice. Research apprentices work approximately five hours per week (for up to 45 hours total in a given semester/summer) on the faculty mentor's (or their graduate student's) research. Apprentices receive $675 for the semester for their work on the project.
Eligibility
Applicants must be full-time Loyola faculty members (including full-time teaching and/or clinical faculty) in one of the following social sciences departments: Global Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences.
Process
Faculty applicants can complete this application. Be prepared to briefly describe the project, the proposed duties, and the possible benefits of this experience for the undergraduate apprentice; you will also be asked to submit a CV.
Deadlines
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on the following specified dates:
- March 15 for the Summer semester
- last working day of May for the Fall semester
- last working day of November for the Spring semester
